Are you interested in participating in UU Leadership Institute but aren’t part of a team?
From decades of experience with leadership training, we found that if one or two people attend, they have a hard time doing anything with what they learned back in their home congregation. Congregations that have sent teams of leaders – especially teams that include religious professionals — have been able to have more positive impact on the congregation upon their return.
For the richest experience, you can enlist your minister, religious education professional and governing body to recruit a team from your congregation. You can then contact the UU Institute Dean or your district or regional staff to strategize how to partner with neighboring congregations to create a Community of Practice.
That said, even if you find you are not able to be part of a congregational team in a “community of practice,” you are still welcome to enroll in any of the UU Leadership Institute courses.
