This course is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge about sexuality issues that are critical for Unitarian Universalist ministers.
Part 1 of the course introduces the concept of sexual health, how it applies to religious professionals and faith communities, including how to handle boundaries and attractions in ministry. It includes information about sexuality (broadly defined) through the life span, and the basic information every clergy person needs to know.
In Part 2, students will develop the necessary skills for ministry, including how to preach, provide pastoral care, and offer public witness on sexuality issues. The course will also help the minister create sexually safer congregations.
